The final result was a fairly nice canopy frame. It's a bit thin, so if I ever do this again I might use heavier cloth, or add a layer or two or cloth. Hopefully, when this frame is painted and glued to the canopy, it will have the appearance of an actual frame and not just paint over plastic. However, I still need a frame for the inside. If you look closely at jet canopies, you'll see that they have a fairly thick frame all around on the inside surface.
