I'm not happy about attaching the elevators to the stabilizer before painting, but I wanted the torque rod securely glued in with the gap above filled. Since the torque rod is hidden within the fuselage, I now have to attach the assembly to the stabilzer before the whole empennage gets attached to the fuselage. I'm going to put one or two coats of primer on both the stabilizer and elevators before assembling them as the gap will be tough to get to later. I have drilled the holes for the Robart hinges and made the gaps for rotation clearance.
